It’s been slow around here for a while. The hiatus was prompted because I had nothing to reblog (the focus of this tumblr being reblogging). Frankly everything I was seeing for a few weeks was boring…or ridiculous. Then life got busy.

Blue Flannel Suit!!!
I’ve been noticing a trend that’s very disturbing. Maybe it’s localized to my area…perhaps there’s just a couple of bad dry cleaners following the same apalling trend? Or maybe it’s a national (or even international!) threat to the sanctity of common decency.
I’ve been noticing more and more men wearing button collar shirts…with the collars unbuttoned. What’s worse, the shirts are starched beyond belief. The final insult (and figurative stab in the eyeball) is that the collars are pressed flat against the shoulders, as if the wearer is trying to make a Brooks Brothers look like Disco Fever.

From the hair, to the beard, to the glasses, to the clothes…this is my ideal “look” for non-casual occasions…maybe with the shoulder padding toned-down.

Wearing patterns
Three patterns plus a bold texture. The pattern on the suit is very, very subtle while that of the shirt and pocket square are much bolder, which is why I think it works. I’m not sure if ‘bold’ is the right way to describe the texture of the tie, but I’m also not sure what adjective would be more appropriate.
Classic: Navy blazer, chinos, and repp tie.
